Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a highly valuable prognostic technique that reduces the risk of overdiagnosis and overtreatment. It is useful in the control and follow-up of Arterial Hypertension and in the diagnosis of white coat Hypertension, which is associated with the anxiety some people experience during a medical consultation.
It requires an appointment for the placement of the recording equipment, after which the patient should carry out their daily activities. Twenty-four hours later, they return to the clinic to have the equipment removed. The analysis of the recording and the generation of the report take an additional 24 hours.
