A graduate of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, the specialist completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Roosevelt Hospital. Subsequently, he served as the Head of Service in both the Department of Internal Medicine and the Infectious Diseases Clinic at Roosevelt Hospital for 12 years.
